River City Dental Care: Meet the Doctors

Dr. Bradford J. Stiles, D.D.S.

Brad graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in May of 1984. He then completed a one year General Practice residency at State University of New York @ Stony Brook Hospital on Long Island. With the dream of starting his own practice, Brad returned to the Iowa City area with his family in July of 1985. In May of 1986 that dream became a reality with the opening of River City Dental Care®, and the phrase, "Smiles by Stiles" could be heard all around Iowa City.

Dr. Stiles is a member of the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He has been an adjunct faculty member of The College of Dentistry at the University of Iowa. He is a "founding" member and has volunteered at"The Dick Parrot Free Dental Clinic" for many years.

He is frequently invited to lecture on "Practice Management" and "Treating Patients With Special Needs", and has traveled both in and out of state for these presentations. Brad and his wife Tricia have two children and two Boxers. His favorite pasttimes are "working" at his cabin in the woods, and listening to music.

Dr. Amanda Vonnahme, D.D.S.

Amanda Vonnahme graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in June of 2006. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the Iowa Dental Association.

Amanda's interest in dentistry began when she was a patient at River City Dental Care®. After receiving her B.S in Biology from the University of Iowa in May 2002, she attended the U of I College of Dentistry. Now as fate would have it, she will pursue her dental career at the practice that first inspired her. She looks forward to her future at River City Dental Care® and volunteering at the "Dick Parrot Free Dental Clinic."

Amanda is originally from a rural northeastern Iowa community. She now resides in the Iowa City area with her husband. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and any activities that get her outdoors.

Dr. Chad Vanourny, D.D.S.

Chad graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in June of 2006.

Chad is originally from Marion, IA where he graduated from Linn-Mar Community High School in 1998. Chad then attended the University of Iowa, where he earned a B.S. in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology, while graduating with honors.

Dr. Vanourny is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Iowa Dental Association. Dr. Vanourny and his wife Jaime greatly enjoy living and working in his home state of Iowa. In his free time he enjoys following the Iowa football and basketball teams, golfing and spending time with friends.

Dr. James Elliott, D.D.S.

James Elliott attended the University of Iowa for his undergraduate studies, and later graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2006.

He is also a member of the American Dental Association and the Iowa Dental Association. While attending the University of Iowa, James earned the Dean's Leadership Award in 2004, and was the vice president of his dental class.

Dr. Elliott is originally from Ottumwa, Iowa, but is enjoying being back in the Iowa City area. When he is not practicing dentistry, he enjoys playing golf and other outdoor activities. He is an avid Iowa Hawkeye football fan.
