Children's Dental Health Month

River City Dental Care® has been partnering with the Iowa City Community School District since 1989 to educate young children about the importance of good oral hygiene. Our staff visits most of the 1st and 2nd grade classes in the 17 elementary schools of the school district. Read more about Children's Dental Health Month and view some wonderful pictures.

Serving Seniors

"Head to Toe" clinics for senior citizens in our community. Here they provided dental examinations and performed oral cancer screenings on elderly patients.

The Nest of Johnson County

Dr. Stiles and staff members have given presentations to future moms and new moms at the Nest of Johnson County. It's important for new moms to have accurate information about their own and their baby's dental health, so we taught them about prenatal care and early postnatal infant care.

"Halloween Party" at Sycamore Mall 2006

The friendly staff of River City Dental Care® handed out "treats" to children attending the "Halloween Party" at Sycamore Mall on Monday night, October 30th. Children came by our table for "treats" of toothbrushes, pencils, coloring books and helpful tips for taking care of their teeth. We were proud to join participating Sycamore Mall merchants in providing a safe environment for children and families to enjoy an evening of Halloween fun.

Community Service Awards

River City Dental Care® and Dr. Stiles have received many awards. In 1998 the Human Rights Commission of Iowa City awarded River City Dental Care® with a plaque for "Outstanding Contributions by a Business to Human Rights". The Arc of Johnson County has honored Dr. Stiles and River City Dental Care® many times over the years, most recently with an award for "Employer of the Year 2002". This honor was awarded for providing employment opportunities through an integrated work environment for persons with disabilities. The readers of the ICON had voted River City Dental Care® best dental office for several years.
